Takes Camera Cards

Play your photos, music and movies straight from your camera’s memory Card. The machine has card reading slots for SD/CF and MS cards.

Partial Twin Tuner

In addition to simultaneous playback and record. Some machines have two TV tuners. This allows you to still watch other digital TV Channels on one tuner whilst you are recording on the other.

Full Twin Tuner

Simultaneously Watch TV or Play and Record overlapping programs. Of the twin tuner models, the better ones will even let you program and record two shows at once which is really handy for overlapping programs or busy Sunday nights.

USB Access to External Drives

Rather than worry about internal Hard Disk limits, these machines can access content on external USB drives. (USB host interface). A great way to share.

Can’t access external drives. Only good for file transfer.

WiFi Networking

Wireless networking is the easiest way to get your IceTV guide, update your firmware, remotely access your DVR and transfer files.

Ad Skip Button

The truly great thing about DVRs is their ability skip the ads. This can be done by editing the recording, fast forwarding through them or jumping over them. To jump over you need to be able to jump in defined time segments usually 30secs by pressing a button.

Ice TV Compatible

Currently without IceTV your EPG will only display what's on now and what's on next. With the Ice TV service you will have the full week's programming. Setting recordings couldn't be easier.

Edit recordings

This is very handy for enthusiasts. You can cut off the extra stuff at the beginning or end of your recordings that occurred because the show started late etc. On the more advanced machines you can cut bits out of the middle such as ads or long half time breaks in the Footy.

Auto Time Shifting

Time shifting is explained in the Flash demo of our site. On some models this has to be enabled each time by pressing a button. This means that if you didn.t know that you wanted to rewind the live TV you are watching before you decided to then it won.t have been recorded. This is not true on the automatic models and is a very nice feature for some.

HDMI (High Definition)

The only way to get a proper high definition digital picture is to have a TV with an HDMI (High Definition Media Interface) input plug. Therefor your DVR will need an HDMI output plug.

Record Captions

The DVR records captions to the hard disk that can then be view when replayed.

Plays DivX Movies

The DVR can play compressed movies such as Div/X and Mpeg formatted as commonly downloaded from the internet.

Learning Remote

The DVR comes with a learning Remote Control. Reduce the number of remotes you have!!

Media Steaming

This is the ability to stream (play) media file that are on your networked computers via the DVR to your TV.

Records Foxtel

Because the Foxtel and Austar signals are encoded it impossible to record their signal on a DVR in digital. Stop Press. The Beyonwiz Lidic will over come this when used in conjuction with another Beyonwiz DVR.

Includes DVD Player

The unit incorporates a DVD player so you can have one less box next to your TV.
